Turn your raw Shea butter into a silky, ultra-nourishing body butter with the help of Baobab oil and a dash of your favourite essential oils. The result is a rich, fluffy cream that melts into skin, hydrates deeply and leaves it smooth, glowing and lightly scented.
It suits every skin type, babies included, and it is built on real ingredients rather than a long label.
Why Add Baobab Oil
Known as Africa's Tree of Life, Baobab oil is one of the most nutrient-rich plant oils there is. It adds a lighter, velvet touch to raw Shea butter.
What Baobab oil brings:
- Deep moisture. Rich in omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids with some omega-3, which help skin hold on to hydration.
- Natural vitamin E. Tocopherols that help defend skin against everyday environmental stress.
- Softer-looking fine lines. Regular use keeps skin feeling supple, which is where most of the visible difference comes from.
- Non-greasy glow. It absorbs fast without clogging pores, leaving a satin finish. Non-comedogenic.
- Gentle enough for babies. One ingredient, nothing added.
Worth knowing: the vitamin C baobab is famous for is in the fruit pulp, not the seed oil. The oil earns its place on fatty acids and vitamin E.

When Shea Butter Meets Baobab Oil
The two are excellent together. Shea brings the dense nourishment, Baobab adds a light, fast-absorbing finish. Combined, they whip into a texture that is rich without being greasy.
Together they:
- Hydrate and then seal that hydration in
- Soften the look of fine lines and rough patches
- Leave skin looking supple and even
- Strengthen the feel of the skin barrier and hold moisture for hours
DIY Recipe: Whipped Shea Butter with Baobab Oil
You'll need:
- FairTale GHANA raw Shea butter
- FairTale GHANA Baobab oil, about 20% of the Shea amount
- 10 to 15 drops of essential oil: lavender, vanilla, sweet orange or chamomile
- Immersion blender or a regular mixer
Step by Step
1. Soften (optional).
If your Shea butter is firm, place it in a heatproof bowl over simmering water until soft but not melted. Skip this if you are using an immersion blender.
2. Combine.
Add the Baobab oil to the softened Shea butter. For a creamier texture, especially in cold weather, add a little extra Baobab oil.
3. Whip.
Blend until fluffy, smooth and light, about 3 to 5 minutes.
4. Add scent.
Add your essential oil drops and blend again briefly to mix evenly.
5. Store.
Scoop into a clean, airtight container. Keep it somewhere cool and dry.
Pro Tip
This whipped blend is yours to tune. Play with the scent, the texture and the ratio until it is exactly what your skin wants. Every time you use it, you are putting honest, wild-grown ingredients on your skin instead of a list you cannot pronounce.
Enjoy your soft, silky, beautifully scented whipped Shea butter with Baobab oil.
